Why this is genuinely hard

A period schedule is a constraint problem with no clean answer. Rest periods, consecutive nights, ergonomic rotation direction, minimum staffing per shift per unit, part-time contracts, holiday requests, and three people who all want the same weekend. Solve one and you break another. A spreadsheet cannot hold that many rules at once, which is why it takes days and still upsets somebody.

You keep the judgement, it does the arithmetic

You configure once what matters most to your organisation. TES compliance non-negotiable. Ergonomics weighted heavily. Worker wishes as best effort. The solver then produces a full compliant schedule and shows you exactly where it had to trade one thing against another. You are in control of the logic instead of the spreadsheet.

Five minutes, and a pulla

Watch the engine work through it in real time, or go and get a coffee. Either way it is finished before you are. And when a worker asks why their shift looks the way it does, you have an actual answer: the rules, in order, applied identically to everyone. That conversation gets considerably shorter.

What it deliberately does not do

Scheduling and TES compliance only. Salary calculation stays in whatever payroll system you already run, and we export clean CSV and Excel for it. Replacing a working payroll system is a risk nobody needs to take.
